Industry Specific ComplianceThe Food Safety and Drug Administration Department, Uttar Pradesh directs that from November 01, 2026, every retail pharmacy in the state must maintain a public website, under a new rule from UPFSDA. Each site must display the pharmacy’s licence, its pharmacist, its premises and its weekly stock. It must also show the purchase and selling prices of medicines, which should make it easier for patients to see what they are paying. The rule extends to hospital pharmacies, whose details will also be made available online.

The order also relaxes a restriction on the supply side. Citing the Navratri season, UPFSDA will lift the ban on issuing new wholesale sale licences from October 11, 2026.

Drug inspectors will monitor compliance with the new requirements. The stated aim is to protect patients’ interests and bring greater transparency to the drug trade.
